ITS OFFICIAL!!!!

Hey beauties!!!  I hope this blog finds you doing well!!!  I have to say I am super excited to announce that I have become a Jamberry consultant!  Yay!!  I am soooo doing a happy dance!!

Y'all know I have been on the fence about this decision.  I had a few quirks I had to get passed to know that I REALLY love my Jams!!!!  You cant sell anything if you don't stand behind it 110%!!  right??!! Well, with some help from my consultant and a  little practice,  I was able to solve my issues.

The 1st issue I was having was my tips weren't sealing properly.  This is something I have figured out from trail and error and practice!! Here are my biggest tips!

  1. Before doing ANYTHING after applying your wraps, let them cool completely!!!!
  2. I trim my nails down with nail clippers when  I trim off the excess wrap.  This is a personal preference, but.....it works!!!
  3. Use a glass file to file your edges down
Like I said, it has taken me a few manicures to get it right and find what works for me.  I am sure any consultant and customer can tell you that with time, you find your on personal way of applying them because everyone is different!!

Another issue I had was horrible cause it really shows I am getting old!!! So, for my older ladies.....this is for you!!! lol  My eyes are getting pretty bad with my old age.  When I measured my wrap and went to take the back off(cause it has a sticker like back)  I couldn't get my tweezers to get in between the wrap and the back!!!!  My consultant told me to try the orange stick and guess what!!??  Totally worked!!!!!!  So, my last manicure took me NO time and looks AMAZING!!  And I did it while watching my 2 year old grandson!!!

Faded Deco

Isn't this just pretty??  And perfect for Spring & Easter too!!  It was sooo fast I even had time to do a matching pedicure!!!!

How stinking adorable?

With NO dry time, I had plenty of time in the day to make forts and play with my grandson!

he was trying to NOT get a picture! He thought that was too funny!

he was spinning in circles

till he got dizzy and fell down

so, why not roll around??

GOTCHA!

he was getting sleepy

he LOVED the fort we made!

out

then in

you cant see me;)

Tomorrow I will be starting my Launch Party!!  I am really hoping some of y'all will go check my site out

 http://beyondblessedglamour.jamberrynails.net/

With Mother's Day right around the corner, what better way to treat her???  I know I always wanna find something different and this is much more exciting!

Or, better yet!!  For those of you mommies out there with lil mini me's.......Why not get your friends together.....order some adorable mommy & me sets and have a Mommy & Me party!!!  Go all out and add some tea!!  Your daughters will thank you!!!!!

I am super excited as I open a new chapter in my life and I cant wait to share it with you!!!!

As always.......#stayblessed!!

Manic Monday!!!!! anything goes!!

Hey Y'all!! I know, I know, once again........looooooonnnnggggg time!!! NO MORE!! I really swear. lol  How have my lovely beauties been??  I pray y'all have been doing just fine!!!

So, #manicmonday!!!!??  Y'all know that means I am free to right about anything and in any order that I want!! This is my day to release anything that may be on my mind at any given time hahahaha!!

First thing first.......

                                                                       RIP Punk!!!!!

Punk was my kids paw paw on their dads side.  My ex-husbands dad.  This man right here.......y'all!!  I love this man like he is my own dad!!  I went through so much with this family but this man right here NEVER once judged me or treated me any differently no matter what me and his son were going through!!  He loved everybody and was a typical southern preacher.  He knew what our purpose in life was and his goal was to save anyone or anything he ever came into contact with!!  I have shared his birthday with him for the last 20 years and I am honestly gonna hate not being able to call him and cut up with him and tell him happy birthday anymore, which breaks my heart.  I do know he is home with our Heavenly Father and I know he is gonna be missed by so many!  I just hope my kids know that they have a lot of their paw paws ways and he will continue to live on....through them!

punk(right) and his brother Pete

Next, I finally got me a new laptop so I can continue my blog!!  It is the cutest little thing ever!!  I am glad I found this.  I have been looking, trying to find a laptop that I like for a decent price.  I really hate making such large purchases!  Many of the little laptops I have found like the chromebooks and netbooks, have NO memory!! And I am a picture taker!! I need memory!!  lol  I found the HP stream notebook.
The price? 210.00 after taxes
The memory? 2gb

The memory scares me but, it does come with 1gb with the cloud!!  It also has a place for jump drives and a SD card.  I pray memory will not be too big of a problem!  I also have my ICloud synced with the laptop, so, that's more memory right there!!  It has a webcam.......its really LOUD!! AND super cute!!!  So far I am delightfully surprised!

My final topic tonight is family, mainly siblings!  Y'all know I have already told u about my grandsons "sperm donor" and how he acted towards his son not to long back, right? Well, we ran into his other babies mommas tonight at Walmart!  These girls were the sweetest and guess what??  Just like Karsyn, these kids do not know their "sperm donor" either!!!!  We did decided to set up a play date because just because their dad isn't around, doesn't mean they don't have anyone.  I mean, in the long run, they will know each either and they will be able to help each other when needed!!  It really bothers me though because not one of these kids asked to be here and I don't think it is right that they have to suffer!!  so.......ladies with kids and your baby daddy has other kids by other women, please! Put your differences aside and let these kids know their siblings!! Cause y'all know what??  I know I am getting old and when I die.....guess who my kids will have???? each other!!!  And after seeing punks family this week at the funeral, I see how important siblings are and how one day, that's gonna be all we have.

well, I hope my rambling didnt bother u too bad lol!! Tomorrow?? #terrifictuesday

fate of the plate

good morning y'all!! i wanna share a little story that happened in our house this week.......we def got a good laugh from ityou see, there was this lil plate. I've noticed this plate..... hanging out in the bathroom...... coolen, chillen..... like it wasn't unusual.
every day i saw this plate. when i pottied
when i brushed my teeth
when i showered
when i got laundry out
and it just hung out for almost a week...
i mean, i didn't put it there, so, why do i always have to clean it up. it was my lil experiment to see how long it would stay there without me getting it.well, Thursday night as my daughter, d, and myself were watching tv, the plate came up.
d finally said.....
"ok, i gotta ask....... what's with the plate in the bathroom?"my daughter lost it! she just died laughing!! so i had to ask what's going on. she said......."the other day while i was peeing, karsyn brought it to me in the bathroom!"ok yall, you may not find it funny, but, we all did!!!!! we were all doing the same thing!! waiting, to see how long it would take for someone else to get the plate!! i swear we laughed for like thirty mins!!!!
well played plate........ well played!

i think someone is ready for pull ups

Potty training can be such a headache!! Trust me, I know!! I've worked with 2yr olds for 15yrs! But, the rewards are nice!!
Mainly the $$ you save!

One thing I have learned is NOT to rush it!! If your child isn't ready, it's not gonna happen.... Just saying! All it will do is cause frustration for you and your child.

A few signs to know your child is ready

•dry diaper
If your child is going hours without wetting/waking up dry in the mornings and or at naps
• vocal
If your child can tell you peepee or poop that's always a good sign too.
•actions
Is your child somehow showing you?? Watch for little hints.
Now, let me give your a prime example:
"today while I was in the kitchen washing dishes, my grandson came running to me with his pants around his ankles. I wasn't paying him too much attention.... Thought he was playing around. Well, he finally gets his pants off. I asked him what he was doing and he began hitting his diaper saying "pee pee pee" he ran to the bathroom door and stayed knocking on it!"
Yaaaassssssss! If that wasn't a sign....i don't know what is!?
"we took him into the bathroom and put him on the potty. He didn't do anything but, he got all smiles and high fives for trying! We took him off, got a fresh diaper on him and 5 mins later..... He poo'ed!"
Yea, yea, I know.... Total fail! Right? No, not really. He is one step closer then before!

There are ways to help your child get ready for potty training.
Take your child with you when you potty. While your in the bathroom... Talk to them. Tell them what things are. Introduce them to sounds that may scare them.

Get them their own toilet or seat for the big toilet. Sometimes kids freak out a little cause they think they will fall into the toilet.

Put them on their toilet as soon as they wake up, and every few hours.

Remember to be consistent! If you don't stick with it, your child won't either.
*please note*

While my youngest son was potty training, about ten years ago, he needed to go potty while we were at WalMart.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS!!!!
My son was terrified to go any where near a toilet after that!
Any place that has a motion thingie to flush isn't good! One little move and it sounds like a huge monster is gonna suck you in! I mean, they terrify me and I'm 36 yrs old!!

Do y'all have any potty training tips? Things to avoid? How did your lil ones let you know they were ready?

Christmas too commercial??

In my opinion..... Yes!! When retailers are competing to get out all their Christmas stuff put out before Halloween now!! I really hate that!! I mean, come on!!! Lets get through one holiday at a time!! Let us enjoy seeing our kids dress as scary lil goblins...... Let us get through Thanksgiving and enjoy being thankful instead of worrying about what we want for Christmas!!
Christmas is a time of family..... And remembering the birth of our savior. I've tried to keep reminding my children this and I do it all year. My children know Christmas is about giving, helping those less fortunate, and being with our family.
To keep Christmas as simple as we can, my kids(my youngest) usually gets 3 gifts.... That he actually asks for. Sure, he will get a few extra small things... From his dad and I, and my oldest get a limit, 100.00. If there is something they want.... That gets deducted.
I'm thankful that I have kids who don't complain, our expect everything!! Makes me feel like I've done well so far on raising my kids!!
Also, with the spending limit and gift limit, it makes things less stressful for me and allows me to enjoy Christmas! No one wants to sit and watch their kids open all these big expensive gifts!! I mean, sure.. . It's nice to see your child happy! Sure,I wanna give my kids EVERYTHING they want.... But, do I honestly wanna sit there Christmas morning and be stressing the whole time because my bills fell behind? Our do I wanna go in debt just to see my kids happy, no! And my kids are good with that!! I pray that they learn from this and carry it on through their adulthood. And I have to say, I have to pray for strength to not give in to ask the commercialism of Christmas!! It's hard as a mom..... Cause if I could, I'd buy everything I saw for my kids and grandson!! So, it's not only a learning process for my children, but for me as well and it gets harder and harder each year!!
So, be strong! Set limits for yourself and kids!! Free yourself from financial worries and enjoy your family and lil ones this Christmas!😁
It's gonna be such a fun Christmas this year!!
Do y'all have any budget ideas for Christmas that you set for yourself?? How do you remind your kids about the true meaning of Christmas 🎄?

are we raising a gen of helpless kids?

So, I read an article yesterday on Huffington post that really got me thinking and made me even step back and reanalyze my parenting a little......

But why have parents shifted from teaching self-reliance to becoming hovering helicopter parents who want to protect their children at all costs?

"I think it began in the fall of 1982, when seven people died after taking extra-strength Tylenol laced with poison after it left the factory," he says. Halloween was just around the corner, and parents began checking every item in the loot bags. Homemade brownies and cookies (usually the most coveted items) hit the garbage; unwrapped candy followed close behind.

That led to an obsession with their children's safety in every aspect of their lives. Instead of letting them go outside to play, parents filled their kid's spare time with organized activities, did their homework for them, resolved their conflicts at school with both friends and teachers, and handed out trophies for just showing up.

"These well-intentioned messages of 'you're special' have come back to haunt us," Elmore says. "We are consumed with protecting them instead of preparing them for the future. We haven't let them fall, fail and fear. The problem is that if they don't take risks early on like climbing the monkey bars and possibly falling off, they are fearful of every new endeavor at age 29."

Psychologists and psychiatrists are seeing more and more young people having a quarter-life crisis and more cases of clinical depression. The reason? Young people tell them it's because they haven't yet made their first million or found the perfect mate.

Teachers, coaches and executives complain that Gen Y kids have short attention spans and rely on external, instead of internal motivation. The goal of Growing Leaders is to reverse the trend and help young people become more creative and self-motivated so they can rely on themselves and don't need external motivation.
What??? Wow, never in a million years. So, here is what I've concluded, it's time to go back to the good ole days! I never was inside, I remember as a little girl.... My parents MADE me stay outside!! Until dark!! Lol but, you know what? I had an imagination....i learned to be independent....i learned problem solving skills because my parents would always tell us to"figure it out"
Kids now days, idk, but....i know my son, sometimes, if he wasn't on his game it was "im soooo bored"
I honestly just told my son the other day I remember playing in the driveway with a bunch of hot wheels. We drew roads in the dirt and made different buildings out of rocks.
So, lets forget the norm.... Let your children be children. Don't be afraid to let them get dirty...
That dirt your child just ate, it's not gonna kill em
That scraped knee, it don't need stitches
Let your kid be a kid and be there if they need lifting up. Prepare them for the future.... Don't protect em from it.
Yea, he is playing with sticks! Lol
Just running!!
I do believe that smile says it all 😍

smarty pants

No, really.... He is!! My son, who is 11 for a few more weeks, is so smart!! I am so beyond proud of him!
He did very well all through elementary school and I'm not gonna lie...i was nervous about him going to middle school this year!! You know, when they are lil.... You can be on top of everything they do! The teacher would communicate with you on a daily basis. But, not in middle school! It's all up to him now. But, I have to say.... He has surprised me so far this year.
He hasn't never been the athletic type like his older brother. He is a gamer and a book worm. But, this year he has really taken on alot. I was worried, but, he has exceled like always!! He has all AP classes.
He wanted to take band ✔
Yes... He chose the tuba lol
He mastered his locker ✔
He got in with the football team.....(water boy until spring cause 6th grade can't play)✔
He has blossomed into this social butterfly ✔
Homecoming 2014
And he is on the academic team!! Their first match they won 2 outta 3 matches and his last match they won all the matches!!
And with all this going on.... He still managed all As and two Bs on his report card!! Yeah, I'm a proud momma!
What have your lil ones done that make you proud??
